The mission of the Southwest Indiana Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (SWIPHCC) is to advance member success by enhancing professionalism through education and training, and to provide leadership for the industry. Our plumbing contractor members have been trained through an apprentice program approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, a division of the United States Department of Labor and the Indiana Plumbing Commission.

Up to four years in apprenticeship is required to become a licensed journeyman. An additional two years working for a licensed contractor is required in order to take the state examination to qualify for a contractor license. A contracting firm offering services to the public must have at least one member holding a Contractor license. The license number must be displayed in the office, on the vehicle, and in all advertising.

Both our plumbing and HVAC contractors continue to receive training at meetings and our annual statewide convention.
